Prepare one calm space
A puppy does not need the whole home on day one. One manageable area makes it easier to find water, the sleeping place and the toilet area.
- A bed or open crate in a quiet place.
- Two stable bowls and the familiar food.
- Safe toys without small removable parts.
- Cables, medicines, household chemicals and stair access secured.
Keep the first day unhurried
Show the puppy the water, sleeping place and toilet area, then allow time to rest. Postpone visitors and long outings: calm company is more useful than constant attention.
Keep the food, portion and schedule provided by Yuliia. If the diet needs to change, make the transition gradually after speaking with your veterinarian.
What to monitor
- Appetite, drinking, stools and urination.
- Breathing at rest and after gentle activity.
- Energy, sleep and willingness to interact.
- Repeated vomiting, severe diarrhoea, weakness, refusing water or laboured breathing require a call to a veterinary clinic.
