When to message Yuliia and when to call a veterinarian first

Start with Yuliia for everyday questions

After homecoming it is easy to worry about every change. Yuliia knows how the puppy ate, slept, toileted and behaved before the move, so she can help compare the new situation with the familiar routine.

• Questions about portions, feeding times or the familiar food.
• Sleep, toileting, the first night and settling into the family.
• Behaviour, play, familiar cues and favourite activities.
• Veterinary passport entries and documents provided with the puppy.

Contact a veterinarian the same day

• The puppy will not eat, is unusually lethargic or refuses water.
• Vomiting repeats, or there is diarrhoea, blood or black stool.
• An eye is squinting, closed, cloudy or being rubbed with a paw.
• There is pain, lameness, swelling, a rash or unusual discharge.

Call the clinic before sending a message

For laboured breathing, blue or very pale gums, collapse, seizures, trauma, suspected poisoning or a swallowed object, call the nearest clinic and follow its directions. Update Yuliia on the way or once help is already arranged.

What to prepare for the call

• Age, weight, when signs began and what changed over the last day.
• A short breathing or walking video, or a photo of the eye, skin or stool.
• Names of food, treats, medicines and anything the puppy may have swallowed.
• The veterinary passport and microchip number if the clinic needs them.
