A two-minute check
- Part facial folds and check for moisture, odour, redness or pain.
- Inspect beneath the tail and the tail pocket if present.
- Check between the toes: swelling, licking and lameness should not be ignored.
- Look into the ears without cotton buds or deep cleaning.
Home routine
After walks, drinking or bathing, gently remove debris and dry the skin thoroughly. Choose the product and frequency with a veterinarian: excessive rubbing and random antiseptics can cause irritation themselves.
When home care is not enough
Persistent odour, discharge, pus, swelling, blood, severe itching or pain need examination. Do not use leftover antibiotics or steroid creams without a diagnosis.
