First identify the type of movement

Ordinary pet-travel rules do not always apply when a puppy is sold or transferred to a new family. Before booking, check the origin, transit and destination rules for that exact type of movement.

The basic checklist

• A microchip implanted before the rabies vaccination or on the same day.
• A valid rabies vaccination and any required waiting period.
• Rabies antibody test, health certificate or tapeworm treatment where the route requires them.
• An exact match between the chip number and every document.

Confirm the route before departure
