First identify the type of movement
Ordinary pet-travel rules do not always apply when a puppy is sold or transferred to a new family. Before booking, check the origin, transit and destination rules for that exact type of movement.
The basic checklist
- A microchip implanted before the rabies vaccination or on the same day.
- A valid rabies vaccination and any required waiting period.
- Rabies antibody test, health certificate or tapeworm treatment where the route requires them.
- An exact match between the chip number and every document.
Confirm the route before departure
Yuliia agrees documents and the route separately with each family. The carrier must know the breed, weight and crate size in advance because additional restrictions may apply to brachycephalic dogs.
